Full Moon Magic: Songs from the Collective, When Lyrics Become Signs

Host: Robin

Hello and welcome to another episode of Aphantasia Experiments. I’m Robin, your host, and I’m really excited about this one.

I’ll be honest—the last episode had some sound issues. I tried a new software that uploads to YouTube and podcasts at the same time, and it did something strange to the audio. But no worries—this one should sound better.

It’s a full moon tonight. (Of course, the full moon is everywhere, but sometimes I forget that and think it’s only here!) I’m outside walking my dog, and as I’m talking, a rabbit just darted across the path. Actually—make that two rabbits. Full moon magic? Maybe.

What I wanted to share today is something I’ve been feeling really inspired about. As I mentioned in the last episode, I started an Instagram account: @aphantasia_experiments. It’s small right now—five followers—but each person feels like part of my little tribe. Honestly, one of the things that lights me up the most is when someone tells me that this podcast inspired them—whether it’s to start their own show, try something new, or look at life differently. That fuels me.

Now, here’s the idea that came to me: I often wake up with songs in my head. Because of aphantasia, it’s not like hearing the full song—I usually just get a lyric or a vague fragment. Then I play detective, track it down online, and often the meaning ends up connecting to something happening in my life—or even globally. Sometimes it’s just a mood-lifting song that completely shifts my vibe.

So I thought: why not share that? On Instagram, I’m going to post short reels—90 seconds—combining fractal meditations with the songs that show up in my head. In the captions, I’ll explain what they mean to me and invite you to share if that song has ever come into your head too. Maybe we’ll find patterns, maybe it’s just random—but either way, it’s uplifting, and it creates space for connection.

I love fractal meditations because they help you get out of your head, quiet your ego, and access creativity. If you’re feeling stuck—writer’s block, low energy, lack of ideas—they’re a great reset. Pair that with music that lifts you up, and you’ve got a vibe-shifting combo.

I’m also sharing some optical illusions and longer meditation reels, so the account is really like a little break from the noise of social media—something calming, inspiring, and creative.

One last funny moment before I wrap up: while recording this, I thought I saw a blue heron in the forest, but it turned out to just be a log. Still, the blue heron has always been a special sign for me, reminding me of my grandmother. Maybe that’s another example of how our minds and hearts find meaning in the smallest things.

So, if this resonates with you, come join me on Instagram: @aphantasia_experiments. Message me, connect, share your experiences—I love hearing from you.

Happy full moon, and thanks for being here with me tonight.
